19-year-old Nathon Michael Ramirez is suspected of being impaired when he allegedly ran a red light and caused the collision.

Bakersfield, CA. – The Kern County Coroner's Office identified the driver who died in a Tuesday night suspected DUI accident in Bakersfield as 27-year-old Randy Jason Munoz-Cruz of Porterville.
19-year-old Nathon Michael Ramirez is suspected of being impaired when he allegedly ran a red light and caused the collision.
Bakersfield police said the crash occurred around 11:34 p.m. at East California Avenue and Union Avenue.
Munoz-Cruz was driving a Dodge Charger on a green light, and Ramirez was driving a white BMW when he reportedly ran a red light at the intersection while traveling at a high rate of speed.
The vehicles collided, leaving both drivers and a passenger in the BMW injured.
Munoz-Cruz was taken to Kern Medical where he later died from his injuries.
Ramirez was hospitalized with moderate injuries. Police are investigating speed and intoxication as contributing factors on his part.
Ramirez's passenger was also hospitalized with major injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Bakersfield, CA. – A man died, and two others were injured when a driver ran a red light Tuesday night at an intersection in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the collision occurred around 11 p.m. at East California Avenue and Union Avenue.
Authorities said the adult male driver of a Dodge Charger was heading west on East California Avenue when he entered the intersection with Union Avenue on a green light.
At the same time, the driver of a BMW was traveling north on Union Avenue when they ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into the Dodge.
The man driving the Dodge was hospitalized with major injuries. The patient later died while receiving treatment.
A passenger in the BMW, only identified as an adult male, sustained major injuries. The driver of the BMW suffered moderate injuries. Both occupants were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police officers are investigating speed and alcohol as possible contributing factors.
