Raymond Sampaga Injured in Deadly Chandler Crash on Hunt Highway and McQueen Road

Chandler, Ariz. – Raymond Sampaga, 47, was injured in a deadly head-on crash in Chandler Thursday night, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

The wreck happened on Hunt Highway and McQueen Road at about 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 18.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said Sampaga was driving west on Hunt Highway when he had a medical episode and moved across the centerline.

His vehicle crashed head-on with an oncoming SUV driven by Taylor Stithem, 33.

Stithem and a passenger in the SUV, Sara Papila, 36, were both killed in the collision.

Sampaga suffered critical injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
