Rialto, CA – The authorities have identified a young girl who died in a fatal traffic collision on 15 Freeway in Rialto Sunday evening.
The deceased victim was identified as Rhylin Ovalle, an 11-year-old Apple Valey resident.
The fatal crash occurred at about 6:49 p.m. on July 6, 2025, on I-15 near Glen Helen Parkway.
The California Highway Patrol said a white Ford Expedition was heading northbound in the No. 2 lane of I-15 when, for some reason, it veered left and struck the concrete center median before it overturned.
The Ford overturned and landed upright in the southbound lanes. Two other vehicles – a black Maserati Grecale and a white Tesla Model 3 – were involved in the crash.
CHP said the Ford was carrying six occupants at the time of the crash – including Rhylin Ovalle – who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other five occupants of the Ford were hospitalized with minor injuries.
No injuries were reported in the other two vehicles.
The crash remains under investigation.
