Richard Nunez Sioson Killed in Wheeler Ridge Road Collision near Valpredo Road in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California (December 29, 2021) – Richard Nunez Sioson, 28, of San Diego, has been identified as one of the two people who were killed in a Tuesday night crash in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at about 10:20 p.m. on Wheeler Ridge Road, just south of Valpredo Avenue.
Richard was driving an Acura northbound on Wheeler Ridge Road when he drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Honda driven by Valdemar Ajpop, 34, of Frazier Park.
Both vehicles acquired heavy damage in the crash.

Both Richard and the other Valdemar were pronounced dead at the scene.
Four passengers of the Honda, including three children under the age of 10, were transported to Kern Medical with major injuries.
Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.
The roadway was closed at Sebastian Road following the wreck.
