Richard Smith Killed in Glenn County Crash on County Road 99W at County Road 7
Glenn County, California (March 15, 2022) – Richard Smith, 59, of Corning died following a crash that took place in Glenn County on Monday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at about 6 a.m. March 14, on County Road 99W at County Road 7.
CHP said Veron McGuire, 61, of Chico was operating a big rig northbound on County Road 99W when he made a turn west onto County Road 7 and was hit by a 2009 Nissan traveling south on County Road 99W.
Smith, who was driving the Nissan, crashed into a power pole in the area.
Authorities said Smith died following the collision.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
