The crash happened at about 7 a.m. at the intersection of Lawrence Expressway and Arques Avenue in Sunnyvale, police say.
Responding police officers found a seriously injured motorcyclist, an adult man. Despite life-saving measures from emergency personnel, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, also an adult male, suffered minor injuries.
Preliminary investigation showed the rider was traveling northbound on Lawrence Expressway and was trying to make a left turn onto Arques Avenue when he collided with the southbound vehicle.
No additional details regarding the incident were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
