Mesa, AZ – A motorcyclist suffered major injuries following a crash in the East Vallet early Monday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened at about 5:30 a.m. on the southbound Loop 202 transition ramp from the eastbound U.S. 60.
DPS troopers responded to the scene and located a rider down in the roadway. The male motorcyclist had serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was trying to avoid crashing into a vehicle that was changing lanes when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed.
The Loop 202 to U.S. 60 transition ramp was shut down as troopers investigated the incident.
The crash remains under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
