, Ariz. – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died in a traffic collision on South Park Avenue in Tucson as 49-year-old Nicholas Steven Kazmar.

The accident happened Tuesday, January 30 near South Park Avenue and East Benson Highway.

According to the Tucson Police Department (TPD), Kazmar was riding his motorcycle northbound on Park Avenue in the curb lane when a pick-up , driven by 21-year-old Adrian Chavez, turned in front of him.

Kazmar was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where they later died.

TPD said failure to yield was the major factor in the incident. Chavez was cited for causing death by a moving violation and released.
