Yucaipa, Calif. – The San Bernardino County Sheriff's-Coronerhave identified the motorcyclist who died after colliding with a vehicle on January 23 in Yucaipa as Steven Wells, 64, of Redlands.
Steven Wells was riding a black 2019 Honda CBR 600 RR motorcycle when he collided with a Ford Escape at about 5:08 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23 at the intersection of Wildwood Canyon Road and California Street.
Wells was pronounced dead at the scene.
Yucaipa, Calif. – A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a vehicle at an interaction in Yucaipa, according to the Yucaipa Police Department.
The accident happened at about 5:08 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, at the intersection of Wildwood Canyon Road and California Street.
Deputies with the Yucaipa Police Department along with emergency crews from Yucaipa Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to the scene and located a a grey 2016 Ford Escape and a black 2019 Honda CBR 600 RR motorcycle.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the Ford Escape was traveling eastbound on Wildwood Canyon, approaching Penny Lane while the motorcycle was westbound on Wildwood Canyon Road.
The Ford Escape made a left turn into a private driveway, and the motorcycle crashed into the driver's side of the Ford.
The rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The authorities shut down the westbound and eastbound lanes of Wildwood Canyon Road remained closed for several hours while deputies conducted their investigation.
