A car traveling in front of a motorcycle allegedly stopped suddenly and caused the crash.
Hayward, Calif. – A motorcyclist was hurt in a collision that happened Saturday afternoon on a freeway in Hayward, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP officers received reports of the crash around 1:38 p.m. on the northbound Interstate 880, just south of the Whipple Road off-ramp.
Reportedly, a car traveling in front of a motorcycle stopped suddenly and caused the rider to hit it.
The motorcycle was left blocking the No. 1 lane, and the rider was up and standing after the collision.
Emergency personnel responding to the incident treated the rider for minor injuries. It was unclear if the patient was hospitalized.
At least two lanes were briefly shut down following the accident.
