Driver Trapped, Another Ejected in Riverside Wrong-Way Crash at Monroe Street and Magnolia Avenue

Riverside, California (October 14, 2021) – A driver was trapped, and another party was ejected in a three-vehicle collision involving a wrong-way driver that happened Tuesday night in Riverside.
The wreck occurred at about 9:21 p.m. at the intersection of Monroe Street and Magnolia Avenue.
First responders found three vehicles involved in the collision, with one party lying in the roadway and another trapped inside one of the cars.
An initial investigation revealed that the driver of a truck was, for unknown reasons, traveling the wrong way on Magnolia when they collided head-on into another vehicle waiting at the light to make a left-hand turn onto Monroe. A third car was also involved in the accident.
Responding firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the trapped driver. The motorist was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Another party who was ejected from one of the cars was also hospitalized at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It remained unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor contributing to the crash.
Authorities are investigating the collision.
