At Least 1 Seriously Injured in Riverside Accident on Wells Avenue near Kent Avenue
Riverside, California (May 7, 2022) – At least one person sustained major injuries in a collision involving a horse in Riverside on Friday night, according to the Riverside Police Department.
The incident took place at around 9 p.m. on May 6, on Wells Avenue near Kent Avenue.
Police said an SUV heading east on Wells Avenue crashed into a horse that walked into its path.
The rider of the horse fell onto the ground following the collision.

The rider sustained critical injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment
The horse suffered minor injuries and walked back to their home.
A passenger in the SUV suffered minor injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
It's unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
