At Least 1 Killed in Riverside Car Crash on 215 Freeway near Box Springs Road

Riverside, California (November 11, 2021) – At least one person died in a multi-vehicle crash that happened Thursday morning on 215 Freeway near Riverside's Box Springs, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Five people were also trapped and a child injured in the pileup that occurred just after 7 a.m. on the southbound 215 Freeway near Box Springs Road.
As per the report, a witness told authorities that a white Toyota 4-door sedan crossed the gore point to enter southbound 215 Freeway and cut off an Enterprise box truck and a blue Ford pickup truck.

Five people were temporarily trapped inside the vehicles, and Good Samaritans were helping to pull them out.
An off-duty Los Angeles County firefighter at the scene advised that one child sustained a head injury.
Riverside Fire Department and other emergency crews responded to the scene and confirmed that at least one person died in the crash. It was not clear if the other parties were injured.
Caltrans responded to the scene to help direct traffic.
No other details were available, but an investigation is ongoing.
