Robert Gorley Killed in Spanaway Collision on SR 7 at 176th Street East

, WA – The person who died in a crash involving multiple vehicles in Spanaway on Friday morning has been identified as Robert G. Gorley, 75, of Roy, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident took place at about 6 a.m. May 10, on State Route 7 at 176th Street East.

The WSP said Gorley was driving a Ford Expedition northbound on SR 7 when he slammed into the rear of a vehicle stopped at the intersection.

This caused chain-reaction collisions involving four other vehicles that were also stopped.

Gorley's vehicle reportedly rolled over following the accident.

According to WSP, Gorley died at the site of the accident.

A passenger in his vehicle, a 68-year-old Roy woman, was injured in the crash and was taken to a hospital in Tacoma.

Five other parties involved in the crash were not Injured.

The Washington State Patrol is working to determine the cause of the accident.
