Robert Meza ID'd as Man Killed in Bakersfield Collision on Interstate 5 near Fort Tejon Road

Bakersfield, California (February 9, 2022) – The man who died last month following a traffic collision on the Grapevine in Bakersfield has been identified as Robert Steven Meza, 27, according to a press release by the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
The accident happened at about 3:45 a.m. on January 14 on Interstate 5, just north of Fort Tejon Road.
Authorities said Meza, a resident of Pasadena, was driving northbound on Interstate 5 when his vehicle was struck by another car.

The other driver was taken to Kern Medical with moderate to major injuries.
The northbound lanes were blocked due to the crash.
