Robert Sierra Jr. ID'd as Truck Driver Killed in Victorville Construction Accident Involving Semi, Excavator on Ridgecrest Road and Yates Road

Victorville, California (June 23, 2022) – A semi-truck driver who was killed while working at the Green Tree bridge project Wednesday morning in Victorville has been identified.
Robert Sierra Jr., 52, of Victorville died when an excavator fell on top of his semi-truck while working at the Green Tree bridge, a project that aims to connect Victorville to Apple Valley via the Yucca Loma bridge
The accident was reported at around 11:39 a.m. at the construction site of the Green Tree bridge project, in the area where Ridgecrest Road turns into Yates Road in the Spring Valley Lake community.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene after reports of a large piece of heavy equipment that had fallen on top of a semi-truck, trapping Sierra Jr.
The firefighters had to do extensive extrication to free the driver. Unfortunately, Sierra Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident will be investigated by OSHA and the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office.
