County, California (September 20, 2021) – The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Bureau has identified the who died after being struck by a vehicle late Sunday night near Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, as Rogelio Vazquez, 43, of .

The deadly crash happened at around 11:16 p.m. Sunday, September 19, on Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1), just north of Wood Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, Vazquez was walking in the left of two northbound lanes when he was hit by a vehicle.

Vazquez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The involved driver, who was uninjured, stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said. Neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash.
