77-Year-Old Roger Russell ID'd as Bicyclist Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Moraga Road near Lucas Drive in Moraga
Contra Costa County, California (November 26, 2021) – Authorities have identified the bicyclist who died after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning in Moraga as Roger Russell, 77, of Moraga.
The deadly bicycle accident happened at around 10:15 a.m. Friday, November 26, in the 500 block of Moraga Road near Lucas Drive.
According to the authorities, Russell was riding his bicycle on Moraga Road when he was struck by a vehicle.
Bicyclist Killed in Moraga Accident Identified
First responders found Russell down in the center median in the road in front of Rheem Center.
Despite life-saving measures performed by responding paramedics, Russell did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Both lanes of Moraga Road between Rheem Boulevard and Lucas Drive were shut down as the police investigated the accident.
