Rylee Munsel ID'd as 11-Year-Old Girl Killed in Fresno Crash on Highway 99 near Clinton Avenue

Fresno, California (May 1, 2022) – Rylee Munsel of Tulare has been identified as the 11-year-old girl who was killed in a traffic accident that left four other people seriously injured earlier this month on Highway 99, the CHP said.
The Fresno crash occurred on April 1, near Clinton Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Corolla, driven by Cody Munsel of Sonora, was traveling on the highway when a Dodge Ram operated by Gerardo Ortiz Jr, 27, of Kingsburg, rear-ended it.
The Ram was reportedly speeding before the collision.
Rylee Munsel Killed in Highway 99 Crash
The Ram had four passengers, Sarah Splettstoesser, McKenzie Munsel, 12, Trace Richards, 10, and Rylee Munsel.
Munsel, Splettstoesser, and the three children, McKenzie Munsel, Richards, and Rylee, sustained major injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Rylee was later transferred to Valley Children's Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
