2 Killed in Sacramento County Accident on State Route 160

Sacramento County, California (December 29, 2021) – Two people were killed in a crash in Sacramento County on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at around 9:01 a.m. on State Route 160, south of 3 mile Slough.
CHP said a Nissan traveling on SR 160 swerved across the double-yellow lines and sideswiped an oncoming Toyota. The impact caused the Toyota to spin.

A GMC then slammed into the side of the Nissan.
CHP said the driver of the Nissan and a passenger, identified as a 48-year-old Pittsburg woman, were both killed in the accident.
The operator of the Toyota, a 38-year-old Elk Grove woman, and the operator of the GMC, a 44-year-old Winters man, were both transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the incident.
The crash is under investigation.
