Hayward, CA. – 22-year-old Sai Gollapalli of Hayward has been identified as a scooter rider killed in a collision early this month in Hayward.
According to a police report, the incident happened at around 4:45 p.m. on May 8 at Mission Boulevard and Orchard Avenue.
Gollapalli was riding his scooter through the intersection when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old Hayward resident.
Gollapalli was unresponsive and was rushed to the hospital, where he died two days later.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers. The police said no arrests were made.
Drugs and alcohol were not suspected in the wreck.
