Rider Suffers Major Injuries Following Salida Crash on Highway 99 and Broadway Avenue Off-ramp
Salida, California (January 24, 2022) – A motorcyclist sustained serious following a traffic collision that happened Saturday evening in Salida, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The major injury collision happened at around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, January 22, on Highway 99 and Broadway Avenue.
CHP said the motorcyclist collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck on the southbound side of Highway 99 at the Broadway Avenue exit.
Major Injury Motorcycle Accident in Salida
First responders found the foot of the motorcycle rider pinned underneath the truck. The patient was then transported to a local hospital with major injuries. The name of the rider and their condition at this time are unknown.
It was not immediately clear if the Chevrolet driver was injured in the crash.
The southbound Highway 99 at Broadway was shut down due to the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
