2 Hurt in San Diego Car Crash on Via De La Valle

San Diego, California (April 28, 2022) – Two people were injured in a crash between two vehicles in the North City neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The crash involved a 1999 blue Mazda Miata convertible and a silver 2022 Chevrolet Volt EV and happened in the 14900 block of Via De La Valle.
At around 3:51 p.m. April 27, the Mazda was heading east on Via De La Valle when it drifted into the two-way center lane to pass other vehicles.
The driver tried to move to the westbound side for the oncoming Chevrolet, which was being driven by a 16-year-old girl.
However, the girl also moved to the westbound lane and collided head-on with the Mazda.
2 Injured in San Diego Collision on Via De La Valle
The driver of the Mazda, a 20-year-old man, sustained a broken left femur and several other fractures. The driver was taken to a hospital and his injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
The driver of the Chevrolet complained of pain and was attended to at the scene.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
An investigation into the incident is being hanlded by the San Dego Police Department.
