, California (September 23, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a three-vehicle collision that happened early Thursday morning in San Diego.

At about 3:38 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the crash on near Mountain Road.

According to the CHP, a Kia Optima, a black Ford F-150, and a third vehicle collided on the northbound side of the interstate.

The extent of the injuries sustained in the crash was not immediately available.

The crash prompted the authorities to temporarily close the four left northbound lanes of Interstate 15 at Carmel Mountain Road.

The crash remains under investigation.
