Rider Suffers Major Injuries in San Francisco Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 80 near Treasure Island Road

San Francisco, California (March 17, 2022) – A motorcyclist sustained major injuries Wednesday night after colliding with a car in San Francisco, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The collision was reported at about 10:52 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 80, near Treasure Island Road.
A rider on a red 2012 Honda motorcycle crashed into the back of a car for unknown reasons. The motorcyclist was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.
First responders found the rider lying down on the ground, and about five motorists stopped to assist.
An ambulance was sent to the scene to transport the seriously injured rider to the hospital.
The lanes Nos. 4 and 5 of the freeway remained closed until at 11:52 p.m. as investigators worked the scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
