1 Injured in San Jose Crash on Highway 87 near Capitol Expressway

San Jose, California (September 23, 2021) – One person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic collision involving two vehicles in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle crash happened at around 3:16 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, on Highway 87, just north of Capitol Expressway.
The CHP said a white Acura sedan was traveling northbound on Highway 87 at approximately 100 miles per hour when it crashed into the back of a black BMW SUV.
As a result of the crash, the BMW acquired rear-end damage while the Acura sustained front-end damage.

One patient was taken to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with minor injuries. The name of the victim and their condition were not immediately disclosed.
Northbound lanes of Highway 87 near Capitol were temporarily closed following the crash.
