At Least 1 Killed in Santa Ana Crash on 55 Freeway near State Route 22
Santa Ana, California (December 30, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a traffic collision on Thursday morning in Santa Ana, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on the 55 Freeway near the transition to State Route 22 at around 2:50 a.m.
CHP said a driver traveling southbound on the 55 Freeway drifted into the opposing side and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Details on whether other persons were injured in the collision were not immediately available.
The northbound side of the 55 Freeway was closed as authorities investigated the incident.
