The incident took place in the 1500 block of Laurelwood Road just after 9:25 a.m. on May 5.

According to the report, a 72-year-old man was riding a bike eastbound on Laurelwood Road when, for unknown reasons, he fell off the bike.

The rider was struck by a 2006 Toyota Prius that was entering the roadway from a parking lot.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and attended to the rider.

The bicyclist was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. He was only identified as a 72-year-old man.
