62-Year-Old Santa Clara Man Killed in San Jose Crash on Interstate 280 near Saratoga Avenue

San Jose, California (March 11, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday night traffic accident that killed a 62-year-old Santa Clara man in San Jose.
The deadly accident occurred at about 11:17 p.m., on March 10, on Interstate 280 near Saratoga Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a red Honda, driven by the 62-year-old Santa Clara man, made an unsafe turn from northbound Interstate 280 onto the Saratoga Avenue off-ramp, where it collided with the left rear of a Tesla.
Following the collision, the Honda reportedly flipped over and landed onto one of the middle lanes of Interstate 280. The Tesla ended up in the east shoulder of the off-ramp.
The CHP said that the Honda was then struck by a black Prius, silver Hyundai, and a silver Nissan.

Sadly, the driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
Further details regarding the mishap were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
