2 Injured, 1 Seriously, in Santa Cruz Motorcycle Crash on Empire Grade near Santa Cruz Waldorf School

Santa Cruz, California (October 17, 2021) – Two people, including a motorcycle rider, were injured Friday night in a traffic collision in Santa Cruz, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The major-injury crash was reported at around 8:22 p.m. Friday, October 15, in the 2144 block of Empire Grade near the Santa Cruz Waldorf School.
CHP said the motorcyclist collided with a white Volkswagen Jetta on Empire Grade.
As a result of the collision, the Volkswagen veered two feet off the roadway.

The motorcyclist sustained major leg injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported to a hospital. One other person complained of pain to her neck after the crash. The identities of the victims and their condition were not immediately available.
A section of Empire Grade was blocked following the collision.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
