2 Injured in Santa Maria Accident on Highway 166 (West Main Street)
Santa Maria, California (October 5, 2021) –Two people were hurt following a head-on collision that occurred on a highway in Santa Maria Tuesday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said the two-vehicle accident took place on Highway 166 (West Main Street) near Ray Road just before 8:00 a.m.
Due to the impact, one person was trapped inside the wreckage and had to be extricated.

The rescued party was then rushed to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria by AMR ambulance for treatment of moderate injuries sustained in the crash.
Meanwhile, another unidentified victim reportedly survived with minor injuries and was treated at the crash site.
The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
