Santa Maria, CA: CHP Investigating Fiery Car Crash on Bonita School Road

, California (August 28, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a fiery Santa Maria crash that happened Friday afternoon, leaving one person with severe injuries.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at about 2:12 p.m. on Bonita School Road.

A blue Acura Integra and a silver Ford Fusion were involved in the collision.

The Acura caught fire after the impact and got completely burned.

Reportedly, one of the drivers was recklessly driving at speeds of over 100 mph prior to the collision. The driver was described as an approximately 6-feet tall Hispanic male adult wearing a red shirt and black pants and had a goatee dark hair. He was vomiting on the side of the roadway and putting eye drops in after the crash.

Calfire and paramedics responded to the scene.

As per the report, one person sustained major injuries in the accident.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.

CHP is investigating to establish the cause of the collision.
