Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Santa Rosa Accident at Stony Point Road and Stony Point Plaza

Santa Rosa, California (February 21, 2022) – A bicyclist was struck and injured by a vehicle at an intersection in Santa Rosa on Thursday evening, according to Santa Rosa police.
The collision happened at Stony Point Road and Stony Point Plaza shortly after 6 p.m. February 17.
Police said a 32-year-old homeless man was riding a bike eastbound when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on Stony Point Road.
The bicyclist was found unconscious on the roadway and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The driver, a 24-year-old man, was uninjured and remained at the scene.
Police said the cyclist was suspected to have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
