Sarah Splettstoesser Seriously Injured in Fatal Crash on Highway 99 in Fresno

, California (April 30, 2022) – Sarah Splettstoesser has been identified as one of the four people who were seriously injured in a traffic accident that killed an 11-year-girl from earlier this month in Fresno, the CHP said.

The crash occurred on April 1, on near Clinton Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Corolla, driven by Cody Munsel of , was traveling on the highway when a Dodge Ram operated by Gerardo Ortiz Jr, 27, of , rear-ended it.

The Ram was reportedly speeding before the collision.

Sarah Splettstoesser Injured in Highway 99 Crash

The Ram had four passengers, Splettstoesser, a 10-year-old boy, and two girls, ages 11 and 12.

Munsel, Splettstoesser, and the three children sustained major injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. 

Sadly, the 11-year-old girl from Tulare was later pronounced dead at Fresno's Valley Children's Hospital.

More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
