Driver Killed in Wilmington Crash on West Harry Bridges Boulevard Identified as Saul Zuniga
Wilmington, California (December 28, 2021) – The Los Angeles County Coroner's office identified the driver who died when his vehicle was rear-ended by a speeding pickup truck Friday evening in Wilmington.
44-year-old Saul Zuniga died at the scene of the crash that occurred at about 7:20 p.m. in the 1100 block of West Harry Bridges Boulevard.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department's South Traffic Division, a pickup truck was headed westbound at a high rate of speed when it slammed into Zuniga's car, which was also going westbound.
Zuniga, whose city of residence was not mentioned, sustained traumatic injuries and died at the crash scene.
The driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries and was arrested following the crash.
Authorities are investigating to determine whether alcohol and/or drugs contributed to the accident.
