According to TPD, the motorcycle rider was riding a 2022 Genuine Scooter motorcycle west on St. Mary's Road when he collided with a 2024 Hyundai Tucson that turned left in front of him.
Tucson, Ariz. – A scooter rider was killed Saturday afternoon after colliding with a vehicle on Interstate 10 in Tucson, according to the Tucson Police Department (TPD).
The accident happened at about 12:15 p.m. on Interstate 10 frontage road at West Saint Mary's Road.
According to TPD, the motorcycle rider was riding a 2022 Genuine Scooter motorcycle west on St. Mary's Road when he collided with a 2024 Hyundai Tucson that turned left in front of him.
Authorities say the rider had the green light when the driver of the Hyundai turned in front of him onto the northbound Interstate-10 frontage road
The motorcyclist was killed in the crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed that failure to yield while making a left turn was the major contributing factor to the crash.
That driver was arrested for causing death by moving violation and was cited and released.
