Scooter Rider Injured in Fontana Crash on Merrill and Citrus Avenues

, Calif. – A scooter rider was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle in Fontana on Friday night.

According to the Fontana Police Department, the collision took place in the area of Merrill and Citrus avenues at about 9 p.m. January 5.

Police said a man was riding an electric scooter across the intersection on a red light when he was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Merrill Avenue.

Medics provided aid to the scooter rider. The rider was then taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the investigators.

The incident remains under investigation.
