Man Injured in San Diego Scooter Accident on Madison Avenue near Florida Street

San Diego, California (August 19, 2022) – A scooter rider was injured in a collision with a vehicle in the University Heights area of San Diego on Wednesday afternoon, according to the authorities.
The incident happened at around 4:55 p.m. on August 17, in the 1900 block of Madison Avenue near Florida Street.
Authorities said a 37-year-old man was riding a motorized scooter west on Madison Avenue in the bicycle lane when a westbound Ram 350 truck tried to make a right turn in the 4600 block of Florida Street.
This caused the scooter rider to strike the truck.
The rider, a 37-year-old man, was transported to a hospital with a fracture to his wrist.
The driver of the Ram, a 57-year-old man, was uninjured and stayed at the scene.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the incident.
