Police said a man on a mobility scooter was trying to cross Clovis Avenue when he was hit by a southbound vehicle

Fresno, Calif. – One person was injured when a vehicle struck a scooter rider in Fresno on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Fresno Police Department.
The accident took place in the area of Clovis and Kings Canyon avenues shortly before 3 p.m.
Police said a man on a mobility scooter was trying to cross Clovis Avenue when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.
The scooter rider sustained lower extremities injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The injuries to the rider were non-life-threatening, police said.
It's unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
Police are investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
