Fresno, CA – The man who was killed on Sunday in a car accident while fleeing from an earlier crash in Downtown Fresno has been identified as 44-year-old Scott Beckwith of Fresno, according to the Fresno County Coroner's Office.
The fatal accident was reported around 10:30 a.m., June 29, near the intersection of Fresno and H Streets.
Authorities said a silver Chevy S10 rear-ended a Subaru at the intersection of P and Divisadero Streets. The Subaru driver got out of his vehicle to exchange information with the Chevy driver, but that driver sped away at high speeds.
The Chevy driver, Beckwith, then lost control while speeding away and crashed into a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other information was available.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
