Rider Hospitalized after Santa Maria Motorcycle Accident on South Broadway near Stowell Road
Santa Maria, California (August 15, 2022) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after colliding with a vehicle Monday afternoon in Santa Maria.
Santa Maria police said the incident transpired at about 1:15 p.m. on South Broadway near Stowell Road.
An emergency crew consisting of Santa Maria police and firefighters, along with an AMR ambulance crew were dispatched to the scene after reports of a motorcycle versus car crash.
The responders found the rider with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The patient was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating excessive speed as a contributing factor on the part of the motorcyclist.
Traffic was backed up at the South Broadway and Stowell Road intersection due to the accident.
