Phoenix, Ariz. – A man was hospitalized in critical condition after a wrong-way DUI crash on Highway 143 in East Phoenix Tuesday morning.
According to a police report, the traffic collision happened on State Route 143 near McDowell Road.
A 60-year-old woman was driving wrong-way when her vehicle collided head-on with a second car going in the right direction operated by 29-year-old man.
The man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries while the woman suffered less serious injuries injuries.
Police said she will be arrested on several charges, including aggravated DUI, aggravated assault, criminal damage and endangerment, once released from the hospital.
