Merced, CA. – At least three people were hurt in a major multi-vehicle crash that happened early Saturday morning in Merced, as per the California Highway Patrol's incidents log.
The cars collided around 12:49 a.m. on southbound Highway 99 near Franklin Road.
A Ram 1500 pickup truck, a Nissan SUV, and a third car were involved in the collision.
Merced firefighters responded to the scene and found the SUV about 20 feet down an embankment behind bushes.
The car down the embankment had an occupant with their legs trapped in seats.
One unconscious party was helped to get out of their car.
The report said at least three people were injured. One patient sustained major injuries, and the others had minor injuries.
CHP officers are investigating to establish the factors that caused the collision.
