Shadijah Utsey ID'd as Woman Killed in Vacaville Collision on Interstate 80 at Interstate 505

Vacaville, California (August 17, 2021) – The woman who was killed last week on Thursday morning in a traffic accident involving five vehicles in Vacaville has been identified as Shadijah Utsey, 20, according to the Solano County Coroner's Bureau.
The California Highway Patrol said the five-vehicle crash happened at about 4:54 a.m. Thursday, August 12, on Interstate 80 at the interchange of Interstate 505.
According to the CHP, Utsey was driving a Toyota Camry on the highway when she swerved into the center median. The Toyota then drifted back into the roadway and collided with a Hyundai Ioniq driven by Harold Sawyer Jr., 71, of Albany.
Moments later, the Toyota was hit by a Honda Civic, a Volkswagen, and a GMC Sierra.

Utsey was ejected from her vehicle and died at the scene.
Sawyer and the Volkswagen driver, Nicholas Hanson, 33, of Rohnert Park, were both taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vacaville with minor injuries.
The Honda and the GMC drivers, Angel Zavala-Alvarez, 42, of Antioch and Humberto Hernandez, 34, of San Pablo, were uninjured in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information or who witnessed the crash is asked to contact CHP at 428-2100.
