2 Killed in Fontana Accident at Citrus Avenue and Los Cedros Avenue identified
Fontana, California (April 7, 2022) – Two people who were killed in a collision that happened at an intersection in Fontana on Thursday morning have been identified.
According to the Fontana Police Department, the accident happened at Citrus Avenue and Los Cedros Avenue at about 1:47 a.m. April 7.
A Honda was making a turn onto Los Cedros from Citrus Avenue when it was struck by a Chevy truck traveling south on Citrus Avenue.
2 Killed in Collision at Fontana Intersection Identified
One of the passengers in the Honda, identified as Shannon Flores, 51, of San Bernardino, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rodrigo Resendez, 53 of Fontana, who was also riding in the Honda was rushed to Kaiser Foundation Hospital Fontana where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Honda was arrested on DUI charges and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
The Fontana Police Deparment's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the incident.
