The pedestrian was trying to cross the street when she was struck by a vehicle on 16th Street near Morten Avenue

Phoenix, AZ – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Phoenix on Sunday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The crash happened at about 9:45 a.m. April 27, near 16th Street and Morten Avenue.
The pedestrian was trying to cross the street when she was struck by a vehicle.
The victim was pronounced deceased at a hospital.
She was identified as Sheila Hipps, 88.
The driver stayed at the scene and was not suspected of DUI.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
