At Least 8 SoCal Edison Employees Hurt in Shaver Lake Explosion at Eastwood Power Station Tunnel

Shaver Lake, California (September 21, 2022) – Several Southern California Edison employees were injured in a circuit breaker explosion in Shaver Lake on Thursday afternoon, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at Eastwood Power Station Tunnel on September 15.

According to the report, the employees were working on the tunnel when the incident happened in the Sierra parking lot area.

The workers were exposed to smoke and gasses.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and treated eight workers injured in the incident.

There were no serious injuries reported.

Authorities said there were no hazardous materials found.

An investigation to determine the cause of the incident is ongoing.
