At Least 1 Killed in Sunnyvale Crash on Highway 101 near Fair Oaks Avenue
Sunnyvale, California (August 29, 2021) – At least one person died in a Sunnyvale crash that happened early Sunday morning on Highway 101, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The multi-vehicle wreck was reported at about 3:10 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway at Fair Oaks Avenue.
CHP officers and Sunnyvale firefighters responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the accident.
At the scene, the responders found four vehicles involved in the crash. Some of the cars caught fire after the collision.
The report said at least one person was killed in the accident.
The pileup left all southbound lanes of Highway 101 at Fair Oaks Avenue closed. Southbound traffic was being diverted off the highway at the Fair Oaks Avenue off-ramp.
No other details about the crash were available.
