Tajz Wells ID'd as Suspect in Modesto Drunk Driving Crash at Sisk Road and Whitcomb Way
Modesto, California (June 11, 2022) – Tajz Wells, 33, has been identified as the suspected DUI driver that collided with a police vehicle in Modesto on Monday evening, according to the authorities.
The incident happened in the area of Sisk Road and Whitcomb Way at around 7:42 p.m. on June 6.
Authorities said Wells was driving a dark Nissan Versa when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Modesto police patrol car.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated Wells, who was pinned in the wreckage.
Wells was then transported to a hospital with major injuries.
The officer involved in the crash was also injured.
Authorities said Wells was found to have been driving while under the influence. He is expected to be arrested once he is released from the hospital.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
