Bicyclist Hurt in Santa Maria Crash at Battles Road and Miller Street
Santa Maria, California (July 10, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a bicycle collision that left a 14-year-old cyclist with injuries on Wednesday morning in Santa Maria.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at about 6:40 p.m. July 6, at Battles Road and Miller Street.
The teen boy was reportedly cycling at the intersection when a truck hit him for reasons yet to be determined.
Responding fire officials and medics attended to the bicyclist who sustained injuries due to the accident. The boy was flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the involved truck driver remained cooperative at the scene.
